The Community Development Law Center has tapped attorney Helen Eastwood to head a new office that the nonprofit law practice plans to open in Bend.

Eastwood, a Bend native, received her law degree from Northeastern University School of Law. Her law experience includes working with Karnopp Peterson, where she provided legal services to the Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs Reservation, and with Byant, Lovlien & Jarvis as a land-use attorney.

She currently serves as聽 a member of the board of directors for Swalley Irrigation District and is a volunteer with the Start Making a Reader Today program.

The new CDLC Bend office is being funded with a grant from the Murdock Charitable Trust.
