As work wraps up on the $93 million Sandy High School replacement, the Oregon Trail School District is getting ready to start $6 million worth of sports facility construction.
The school board on April 9 approved the funding of several sports facility projects expected to begin construction by June.
had the lowest bid for improvements to the existing sports facility, which include an upgraded track, an improved football field, a two-story concession stand, an announcer booth, and new softball and baseball diamonds.
Work on the facility will coincide with the commission of the new high school building, which is being built by and is expected to open in the fall.
The district is using the last of the money from a $120 million construction bond for the sports facility improvements, according to bond project manager Debbie Pearson.
