, the parent company of Portland-based , announced today it has acquired North Carolina-based .
Both Viewpoint and Construction Imaging offer software solutions for enterprise content management. The acquisition will lead to a more robust product for paper-free office, project management and routing support systems, according to Coaxis. Viewpoint will continue to sell the Construction Imaging software as a standalone product or as an integrated system with its own V6 Suite.
While the terms of the sale were not disclosed, Viewpoint reported that strong growth in 2011 ultimately led to the acquisition. In 2011, Viewpoint reported approximately $40 million in revenues – up 47 percent from 2010 – and in the first quarter of 2012, it saw 78 percent growth over the same period in 2011. According to the company, 20 percent of the Engineering News Record’s Top 400 Contractors list use Viewpoint’s V6 software.
With the acquisition of the North Carolina company, Viewpoint adds 23 employees to its roster, bringing its payroll to 302 people. Viewpoint officially formed in 1976 and is located at 1515 S.E. Water Ave. The company also has offices in Canada and Australia and said it has plans to hire more people in 2012.
