Portland attorney Bruce Howell has been appointed to two leadership positions in the American Bar Association鈥檚 health law section.

Howell is a partner in the Portland office of Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt. He will serve as chairman of the ABA鈥檚 healthcare policy task force and as vice-chairman of the editorial board for The Health Lawyer, the organization鈥檚 bi-montly health law magazine.

Howell focuses his practice on health care law with an emphasis on physician practice issues, fraud and abuse, and reimbursement. He is a past chairman of the American Bar Association鈥檚 medical research-biotechnology and clinical ethical issues interest group and his health care practice has earned a spot on the U.S. News 鈥淏est Lawyers in America鈥� listing.
