Coaxis Inc., the parent company of , has brought yet another company into its fold.

The Portland-based provider of construction project management software announced, Wednesday, it has acquired for an undisclosed amount Bandon, Florida-based , a 27-year-old mobile solutions provider. The acquisition follows a recent partnership between the two companies in August that resulted in the launch of a Mobile Field Manager for Viewpoint’s products.

, Viewpoint’s CEO, said the acquisition will catapult mobile applications for the rest of its services. The mobile technology allows construction workers in the field to tally things like payroll and equipment usage with iOS or Android devices, and have that information sink directly with company databases.

The announcement follows Coaxis’ acquisition in May of North Carolina-based Construction Imaging Systems, and news in July that it had received a $76 million minority investment from a global private equity firm to help expand product development.

While exact figures were not available, the company reported that revenues in the third quarter of 2012 had increased 50 percent over a year ago. In 2011, Viewpoint reported approximately $40 million in revenue 鈥 a 47 percent increase from 2010.

With the introduction of ACS, Viewpoint adds 11 employees to its roster, bringing its base to more than 235 people. Haladay said the company has also been working hard to grow its Australian and New Zealand presence; his oldest son Scott Haladay was recently appointed the managing director for those foreign markets.

Haladay attributes Viewpoint’s growth, in part, to a trend among contractors that are making strategic use of the economic downturn to create efficiencies in operations.

鈥淭his may have been a little sharper than the average downturn but (contractors) have learned that if they’re going to see the upturn they need to be efficient and often times they use these downturns as an opportunity to hone their efficiencies,鈥 Haladay said. 鈥淚t’s given them time to reflect on technological infrastructure and partnerships.鈥
