Mark Brown is a junior at Health and Science School in Beaverton.

“I found (the ACE program) through a career day by ZGF Architects,” Mark says. “I had always been interested in industrial design and general engineering, but have never found an outlet to find actual application for my ideas. I am the only student in ACE from H2H, a small option school out on 185th Street and Walker Avenue in Beaverton.

“Are the ACE students the future generation? Will we go on to change the world or at least the city? Will we work towards more modern ideas and use our unmolded imagination to think up ideas unlike those before us, and if so how will we allow something great to come from this? It is always interesting seeing something before it happens. I have always been told that I am better asking questions than stating their answers. Isn’t that how we will progress to new ideas, with questions? One thing is for sure, without questions, engineers would be out of a job.
