ARCHITECTURE

SERA Architects recently hired Jeff Roberts as a senior project designer and Kip Richardson as a marketing director.

Roberts has significant expertise in civil and cultural project design, as well as leadership in sustainable design. He previously was a principal at Las Vegas-based Lucchesi Galati (LGA).

Richardson has more than two decades of marketing and business experience in Portland鈥檚 design industry. He will work with SERA鈥檚 senior leaders to spearhead development and execution of marketing and business development strategies.

ARCHITECTURE

CIDA Architects & Engineers recently promoted Senior Principal Jennifer Beattie to president. The firm鈥檚 current president and founder, David Welsh, will remain a senior principal. Beattie, a licensed architect in Oregon, Washington and Hawaii, joined CIDA more than 15 years ago and has been instrumental in its growth and development in the architecture and engineering community. She was named a principal in 2007 and over the past two years has managed CIDA鈥檚 direction and client services. Beattie will officially step into the president鈥檚 position on April 1 鈥� the firm鈥檚 22nd anniversary.

ENGINEERING

The Wallace Group, based in Bend, recently added Shay Dodd-Perry as a materials testing lab/field technician. She previously worked for Tidewater Constructors on highway projects throughout Oregon. Perry recently performed quality assurance and testing services for Bend鈥檚 three new roundabouts. For the Wallace Group she will provide her expertise on commercial, municipal and Oregon Department of Transportation projects.

LAW

Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt recently named Anna Helton, Jeff Hern, Andrew Lee and Phillip Haberthur shareholders. Helton, Hern and Lee are attorneys in the firm鈥檚 Portland office; Haberthur is an attorney in the firm鈥檚 office in Vancouver, Wash.

Helton focuses her practice on commercial and real estate litigation as well as defense of sexual abuse claims involving religious entities.聽In addition to her litigation work, Helton also routinely drafts loan documents for complex transactions.

Hern focuses his practice on complex business litigation. He primarily represents pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, automotive manufacturers, and food manufacturers and processors in product liability litigation or related matters. He also advises hospitality businesses on alcohol regulatory matters.

Lee focuses his practice on complex litigation matters, primarily in the areas of product liability, sexual abuse ?claims and appellate law. He has experience litigating securities matters and class actions.

Haberthur focuses his practice in the areas of creditor鈥檚 rights, including foreclosures, loan workouts and聽modifications, consumer protection actions, bankruptcy, real estate and title litigation, and general commercial litigation. His practice also聽includes appellate law.

NONPROFIT

The Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance, a nonprofit working to accelerate energy efficiency in the Northwest, recently announced its 2013 board of directors.

Jim West, assistant general manager of customer and energy services for Snohomish Public Utility District, was elected chairman. Deb Young, program consultant for NorthWestern Energy, is vice chairwoman. Bruce Folsom, director of energy efficiency for Avista Utilities, is secretary. Ed Brost, general manager of Franklin County Public Utility District, is treasurer. Margie Harris, executive director of Energy Trust of Oregon, is ex officio to the executive committee.

Other board members include: Ted Coates, superintendent/chief operating officer of Tacoma Power; Roger Gray, general manager of the Eugene Water & Electric Board; Greg Delwiche, senior vice president of power services for the Bonneville Power Administration; Lisa Schwartz, Oregon governor representative and director of the Oregon Department of Energy; Bob Stolarski, director of customer energy management for Puget Sound Energy; Jim Baggs of Seattle City Light; Gregg Carrington of Chelan PUD; Theresa Drake of Idaho Power; Kim Drury of NW Energy Coalition; Pat Egan of Pacific Power; and Kathy Hadley of the National Center for Appropriate Technology.
