Kathy Murphy, former owner of Top Murphy & Co., recently joined the tax department of Perkins & Co., Portland鈥檚 largest locally owned accounting firm, as the 18th shareholder. She is bringing with her a dedicated automotive accounting team 鈥� including two experienced tax managers 鈥� and an extensive dealership client base. Murphy, who has more than 27 years of experience, will lead the firm鈥檚 growing dealer services practice group that focuses on the specific needs of auto and truck dealerships.

ARCHITECTURE

Tara Lund, vice president of CIDA Inc., on April 5 will mark 20 years with the firm. She is being recognized for her contributions of time, talent, creativity, energy and loyalty.

BUSINESS

Fred Meyer Stores recently hired two vice presidents: Rick Heffner is vice president of operations and Ann Reed is vice president of merchandising.

Heffner is responsible for day-to-day operations of all 133 Fred Meyer stores throughout Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington. He has been with the company since 1987 and has held a variety of roles. Most recently, he was senior director of store operations.

Reed is responsible for the merchandising and sales for the food section, which includes all of grocery as well as the deli, meat, seafood, pharmacy, and health and beauty departments. She previously oversaw the merchandising and product assortment for 119 Arizona stores under the Kroger Company鈥檚 Fry鈥檚 division.

ENGINEERING

Jeff Torgerson recently joined AAI Engineering as a civil engineer.聽He has more than 17 years of professional experience on a wide range of project types, including commercial, light industrial and residential land development.聽He also has extensive experience designing public water systems, roadways, sanitary sewer systems and pump stations.

LAW

The Law Offices of Geoff Bernhardt recently added Elizabeth 鈥淟iz鈥� Jessop as an associate. In 2012 she graduated from Lewis & Clark College, where she was an article editor for the Lewis & Clark Law Review.聽Her practice will include estate planning, probate and trust administration, and elder law.聽Before earning her law degree, she worked as a trust administrator for a regional bank in California and as an estate planning and probate paralegal.

ARCHITECTURE

Portland-based SRG Partnership Inc. recently hired Erica Hildebrand as a visual communications manager to serve the firm鈥檚 business development team in Seattle. She has 18 years of experience in graphic design and branding for architectural and environmental design firms.

LRS Architects recently hired Debbie Abraham and Philip Pittsenbarger as job captains and Marc Griffin as project staff.

Abraham has nine years of experience encompassing a wide range of retail, educational, commercial, institutional and residential projects. She is working in the commercial office studio.

Pittsenbarger has worked since 2006 on a variety of retail projects. He is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design accredited professional. He is working in the commercial office studio.

Griffin has five years of technical and presentation drafting experience. He was assigned to the housing studio.

CONSTRUCTION

The NAMC-Oregon board of directors recently announced its new leadership team. Andrew Colas is president and chairman. Brandon Flint is vice president and vice chairman. Alando Simpson is treasurer and chief financial officer. Seyon Belai is secretary.

LAW

Andrea Barton, an associate in the Portland office of Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt, recently joined the Junior Board of Make-A-Wish Oregon. The board includes young professionals volunteering to advance the nonprofit鈥檚 mission to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. Barton focuses her practice in the area of commercial litigation.

Richard Fern谩ndez 谤别肠别苍迟濒测听箩辞颈苍别诲 Innovative Housing Inc.鈥檚 board of directors.聽Innovative Housing is a nonprofit housing developer that owns and operates 1,561 rental units in Oregon and Washington.聽Fern谩ndez is a founding member of Bowles Fern谩ndez Law LLC; he practices foreclosure defense, real estate law, business law and consumer defense.聽Before that, he was vice president and director of acquisitions at Homestead Capital Inc. and a vice president of U.S. Bancorp Community Development Corp.

REAL ESTATE

Jerry Hicks recently joined Fay Ranches鈥� Prineville office as a ranch broker associate. He has extensive knowledge of the ranch market and connections to buyers and sellers in the area. He is expected to solidify the firm鈥檚 growing presence in Oregon.
