ARCHITECTURE

Mark Engberg, a principal and lead designer at COLAB Architecture + Urban Design LLC, recently was named by the American Institute of Architects Washington Council as one of the three jurors for the 2013 Civic Design Awards. The program encourages design excellence in the public realm. The jury will review submittals and then discuss and award project teams at an awards banquet in Seattle on May 23. Engberg has produced architectural designs for clients around the world, including Disney, ABC Television, Ferrari, E-Trade and Nike.

ARCHITECTURE

Waterleaf Architecture, Interiors and Planning recently added Emily R茅fi and Erin Lauer to its design staff.

R茅fi has 12 years of architectural experience in cultural, educational, research and commercial projects. She is designing a multifamily housing project in the central eastside part of Portland.

Lauer has eight years of experience in building design, urban planning and sustainable design consulting. She is working on regional transit projects and an urban winery facility in Northeast Portland.

LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE

Walker Macy recently hired Claudia Sims and Hanna Baker.

Sims is a landscape designer, having recently received her master鈥檚 in landscape architecture from the University of Oregon. She has a strong planting and design background developed through five years as a small business owner.

Baker is the firm鈥檚 marketing manager. She has 10 years of professional experience in marketing, including six in the A/E/C industry.

BUSINESS

The Heathman Restaurant & Bar recently added Randy Noia as its new general manager. He will oversee the restaurant鈥檚 management team, ensure that all customers鈥� dining experiences exceed their expectations and develop financial forecasts. He has dedicated more than 20 years of his professional career providing exceptional service within the food and beverage industries. Previously, he was general manager of Oba 鈥� a Latin restaurant in the Pearl District.
