ARCHITECTURE
SRG Partnership recently hired Olivia Croom to serve as marketing coordinator in its Portland office. She recently received a master鈥檚 degree in writing and book publishing from Portland State University. She is skilled in graphic design, writing, administration and social media.

ENGINEERING
HDJ Design Group, based in Vancouver, Wash., recently hired John A. Buehler. He recently received a bachelor鈥檚 degree in civil engineering from Oregon State University. He will provide the firm鈥檚 transportation group much needed technical support and engineering design.

ARCHITECTURE
BLRB Architects recently hired Richard H. Higgins to direct its Portland office. He has more than 30 years of architectural planning and design experience, particularly with secondary and post-secondary facilities. He is recognized for contributing to collaborative project development, creative design solutions and responsive service.

ENGINEERING
The Oregon Department of Transportation recently awarded OBEC Consulting Engineers the No. 1 ranking on its full-service architecture and engineering consultant list. OBEC is now on a short list of consultants eligible to submit proposals for ODOT-funded projects for the next two years. The firm has ranked either No. 1 or 2 on the ODOT list for the past six years.

ENGINEERING
Shannon & Wilson recently was awarded a five-year contract with Portland-based PacifiCorp (a Berkshire Hathaway company) to provide on-call geotechnical engineering services across seven western states. PacifiCorp Energy owns and operates a variety of power generation facilities, including hydropower dams, thermal generating plants and wind farms, as well as an extensive power transmission network. Shannon & Wilson, founded in 1954, is headquartered in Seattle and has an office in Lake Oswego.

LAW
Portland real estate and land use law firm Radler White Parks & Alexander LLP recently hired Jeffrey P. Kapp. He previously was a partner with Robinson, Bradshaw & Hinson of Charlotte, N.C. He is licensed in North Carolina and Massachusetts, and is in the process of applying for reciprocal attorney admission to the Oregon State Bar. He has nine years of experience in real estate and transactional law, with a concentration on real estate development, property sales and acquisitions, leasing and real estate finance.

NONPROFIT
Global aid agency Mercy Corps recently added Lucy Lee Helm, executive vice president, general counsel and secretary at Starbucks Coffee Co., to its board of directors. She has more than 20 years of experience as a lawyer, board member and volunteer in the Seattle community. Prior to joining Starbucks, she was a principal at Riddell Williams in Seattle, where she was a trial lawyer specializing in commercial, insurance coverage and environmental litigation.
