ARCHITECTURE
GBJ Architecture recently appointed David Pugh, a longtime principal, will take on the role of president beginning May 1. Herb Giffin, the firm鈥檚 present president, will remain an active principal. Also, Kimberly Ritter, an associate, recently was promoted to director of design.
Pugh joined GBJ in 1999 and was named a principal four years later. He has more than three decades of architectural and project management experience. He will continue to manage key health care client accounts and increase his involvement in operations and business development.
Giffin founded GBJ with Max Bolte and Igo Jurgens in 1985. Giffin plans to continue working focusing on business development as well as hospital campus planning, medical facility planning and site development.
Ritter has more than 25 years of experience, including the past 14 in health care design. Since joining GBJ in 2001, she has worked on most of the firm鈥檚 national award-winning projects in key leadership roles.

CONSTRUCTION
WHPacific鈥檚 Salem office recently added Daniel Filipenko as a construction inspector. Since graduating from Oregon State University in 2012, he has gained experience in construction, design inspection and project inspection. He completed internships with Clean Water Services and OBEC Consulting Engineers.
MARKETING
WHPacific recently hired Allison Milionis and Mark Turvin as proposal development specialists to serve the firm鈥檚 sales support team, and Lauren Hendrix as public relations and events specialist to serve the firm鈥檚 corporate marketing team.
Milionis is a successful contract writer for clients such as the U.S. Green Building Council and Holst Architecture. She previously served as the communications manager for Rockefeller Partners Architects in El Segundo, Calif., for six years.
Turvin previously was a senior proposal writer for multimillion-dollar and billion-dollar rail and construction projects for Kiewit Corp. He has been a writer and editor for more than 10 years.
Hendrix has held several public affairs, communications and marketing positions for companies such as Coca-Cola, Anadarko Petroleum and Office Depot.

SURVEYING
Andrew Huston, who has served WHPacific as survey project manager in its Bend office for nine years, recently was promoted to director of survey. He has 16 years of experience managing survey projects and leading staffers in both field and office settings. He has worked in the energy, transportation and resort development industries. His clients include PacifiCorp, the Bonneville Power Administration, Pacific Power and HDR Inc.
