ACCOUNTING
The Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants recently elected its 2013-14 board of directors.

Michele Henney of Eugene will serve a one-year term as chairwoman. She is a University of Oregon faculty member and program manager of the Finance and Securities Analysis Center. She has been a member of the OSCPA Board of Directors since 2009. Her term began April 1.

Other board members include: Jason Orme, chairman-elect, Talbot, Korvola & Warwick; Timothy Filkins, vice chairman, Timothy R. Filkins CPA; Mark Damon, secretary, Michael L. Piels CPAs; Ann Ferguson, treasurer, Schmitt Industries; Deborah Hollingsworth, past chairwoman, Deborah J. Hollingsworth CPA. The board also has five directors: Elizabeth Almer, Portland State University; David Adams, Geffen Mesher & Co.; Lawrence McNamara Jr., Lawrence H. McNamara Jr. CPA; Amy Dale, Oregon Secretary of State audits division; and John Mlynczyk, Kernutt Stokes LLP.

ARCHITECTURE
Kourtney Strong of CIDA Architects & Engineers recently passed the Architectural Registration Examination and is now a licensed architect in Oregon.聽She provides project management and design in a variety of industries, including general office, charter schools, indoor recreation and food processing.

CONSTRUCTION
Western Partitions Inc. recently appointed Rick Martin as chief executive officer. He has nearly 20 years of industry experience. In his role as CEO, he will be responsible for leading WPI toward profitable growth.聽He joined the firm in 2001 and has served in many leadership capacities:聽Southern Oregon regional manager, vice president of construction and chief operations officer.

REAL ESTATE
NBS Financial Services recently hired Matt Illias as a financial analyst. He will work with loan origination team members to secure capital to satisfy clients鈥� needs through exclusive relationships with life companies, conduits, REITS and pension funds. He previously was a universal associate with Umpqua Bank in Portland.

ENGINEERING
MacKay Sposito of Vancouver, Wash., was one of 11 Washington employers honored recently by the Association of Washington Business for exhibiting exceptional commitment to philanthropy and corporate citizenship. MacKay Sposito was singled out for its continuous commitment to 鈥減rojects that mobilize people into action.鈥�

TRANSPORTATION
TriMet鈥檚 Leah Robbins was named Woman of the Year and Kristen Kibler of Jeanne Lawson & Associates was named Member of the Year by the Portland chapter of WTS International. The nonprofit organization promotes the advancement of women in the transportation industry. The Employer of the Year was the Oregon Department of Transportation Region 1, the New Voice honoree was Alison Tanaka of Kittelson & Associates and the Diversity Leadership honoree was Parsons Brinckerhoff鈥檚 Portland office. Winners will be celebrated at WTS鈥� annual spring ceremony on May 22 at the BridgePort Restaurant and Brewpub at 1318 N.W. Northrup St. in Portland.
