HFO Investment Real Estate recently added Tyler Johnson as a partner. He has worked in commercial real estate for more than 10 years, and has transactional experience across the country selling office buildings, shopping centers, student housing developments, low-income housing tax credits and multifamily investments. Johnson has brokered more than $125 million worth of transactions for clients ranging from institutions, banks, governmental agencies and private equity clients. He has worked in Portland since 2010.

ARCHITECTURE
Paul Falsetto of Carleton Hart Architecture recently passed the Architect Registration Examination and is now a licensed architect in Oregon. He specializes in historic preservation and most recently led restoration of the Ladd Carriage House and the Raven and Rose restaurant.

CONSULTING
Following a 35-year career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jeff Harris is joining WEST Consultants as a senior scientist in hydrology and hydraulics. Harris brings national and international expertise to the WEST team in the areas of hydrologic and unsteady flow modeling, as well as the analysis of precipitation, large-scale river systems, and flood control alternatives for potential flooding behind levees.

Also, WEST Consultants this year is marking its 25th anniversary. It was incorporated by Jeffrey B. Bradley in San Diego in 1988, when WEST was awarded its first project by the city of Vista, Calif. The firm now has more than 60 employees among eight offices in five states. It continues to provide specialized services relevant to water, environment, sedimentation and technology.

LAW
The Portland office of K&L Gates LLP recently added William H. Holmes and Teresa A. Hill as partners in its energy and infrastructure projects and transactions practice. Both previously were with Stoel Rives LLP.

Holmes advises investors, independent power producers, utilities and renewable energy companies on various energy law matters, including major power purchase agreements; the development, purchase and sale of energy projects; build-transfer agreements; EPC and O&M contracts; energy storage; and fuel supply agreements. His practice has included projects that use wind, solar, geothermal, biomass, natural gas, hydroelectric and hydrokinetic energy. He also has experience in real estate law, water law and corporate transactions.

Hill represents developers and purchasers in the areas of renewable energy, land use natural resources and environmental law. She counsels clients on power purchase agreements, environmental and land use approvals, due diligence reviews, environmental compliance and permitting, and appearances before administrative agencies.

ENERGY
Hendrix Heating and Air Conditioning of Corvallis; Metfab of Vancouver, Wash.; Formula Fabrication of Libby, Mont.; and A-1 Heating and Air Conditioning of Meridian, Idaho recently received 鈥淐ontractor of the Year鈥� awards for 2013 from the NW Ductless Heat Pump Project. The awards recognize businesses that have demonstrated exemplary performance in installations, customer service and consumer marketing and education relating to ductless heating and cooling systems. An additional award went to Airworks of Kalispell, Mont., for exceptional customer marketing. The NW Ductless Heat Pump Project is an initiative of the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA) and partner utilities to help eligible homeowners in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Montana cover the cost of installing high-efficiency ductless technology.
