Jay Bower to replace retiring CEO Steve Johnston at Landau Associates

Landau Associates Inc., an environmental, geotechnical, permitting and compliance services consulting firm that has an office in Portland, announced recently that President and CEO Steve Johnston will retire June 28. Jay Bower, formerly the firm’s chief operating officer, will become CEO.

Johnston joined Landau Associates in 1986, and has spent the past 10 years as CEO. He spent 35 years as a project manager and environmental permitter. His executive roles included managing principal, client services director and administrative manager. He also served on the firm’s board of directors for the past eight years.

Bower joined Landau Associates in 1998, and has 29 years of experience as a civil engineer specializing in site remediation services, program management, and federal and state regulatory negotiations in the western United States. Before becoming COO, he previously was the firm’s environmental services director. He also has served on firm’s board of directors.
