A nationally recognized advocate for women executives will join prominent leaders in Oregon’s building industry for the Daily Journal of Commerce’s Women’s Business Expo and Conference.

Darcie Harris of EWF International will serve as the keynote speaker for the event, which will run from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sept. 19, at the Governor Hotel. The conference is designed to provide an opportunity for women involved in business, including the building industry, to share their experiences while honing their leadership skills.

The half-day conference will open with a panel discussion that will explore the changing roles of women in the building industries and other areas of business. Lois Cohen, founder of Lois D. Cohen Associates, will serve as the event’s moderator. Panel members will include Paula Barran, founder of Portland-based law firm Barran Liebman; Lynn Iaquinta, northwest regional transportation director for WHPacific; Kristin Newland, shareholder in Salem-based Lenity Architecture; Jeanne Staton, president of Eugene-based Staton Cos.; and Amanda Wilson, a project manager with Oregon State Bridge Construction Inc.

Harris’ interactive program, The Alpha Mare, will round out the conference agenda. In addition to serving as founder and CEO of her Oklahoma-based company, Harris is a business consultant who offers mentoring and coaching to women business owners and executives.

The 91视频’s Women’s Business Expo and Conference is sponsored, in part, by the National Association of Women in Construction and OBEC Consulting Engineers.

Registration for the conference is $75, and includes access to the vendor exhibit booths, networking opportunities and a buffet lunch. To register, visit /womensbusinessexpo/.
