Whitaker/Ellis, a 16-year-old structural concrete contractor, relocated its offices last week from Southwest Portland to Tigard in a move that it says will give it three times as much space and better access to the metro area.
The company, which specializes in forming, placing and finishing concrete projects in Oregon and Washington, combined its office and shop space into the new, 7,500-square-foot facility, owner Bill Ellis said.
“We outgrew our existing space on Barbur (Boulevard) and needed a better setup,” he said. “Access to (Oregon Route) 217 and (Interstate 5) make Tigard a great base for operations.”
Whitaker/Ellis has worked locally on projects for Ikea and the Portland Art Museum. In Washington, the firm has handled work for Spirit Mountain Casino and United Grain Terminals, according to the company.
