Walking through the building at 203 N.W. Third Ave. is like taking a step back in time. The 134-year-old building is full of relics from the past, from yellowed old newspapers to graffiti on the wall by 鈥淭he Frisco Kid,鈥 who passed through 80 years ago. What was once a safe haven for sailors passing through Portland will again become a stopping point for weary travelers after a $3 million renovation is completed on the future Society Hotel.
