Major work is complete on the new David Douglas Aquatics Center in Southeast Portland. Contractor LCG Pence Construction began work last summer on the 15,800-square-foot building, which will replace the existing swim facility immediately to the north of the new building. The designed building includes a 25-meter-long pool with capacity for 450 spectators, locker rooms, and offices for support staff. The first classes at the pool will be held Monday, and a ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for Aug. 4.
