A developer is moving forward in the permitting process for a two-building multifamily development in Northwest Portland.

Portland LEEDS Living LLC has submitted early assistance intake paperwork to the Portland Bureau of Development Services for type III design review for two six-story buildings 鈥� one with 74 apartments and one with 52, according to Phillip Chubb, an associate at FFA Architecture and Interiors.

鈥淭hey are going through the design review process to address an issue with the height limit,鈥� Chubb said. 鈥淭he owners are trying to get through the permit process without a lot of hoopla.鈥�

The property, at 1953 N.W. Overton St., presently has a small warehouse owned by Overton Street LLC.

According to the Oregon Secretary of State’s Corporate Division, Portland LEEDS Living LLC is managed by Thomas Arenz and Martin Kehoe.

Herbert, Ryan and Chad McKillop are listed as the registered managers of Overton Street LLC. Herbert McKillop is also listed as the owner of Midway Offices LLC, which owns a property at the corner of Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Monroe Street. A five-story multifamily project was under construction there in August 2013, when it was destroyed by a fire that also damaged two homes nearby.
