Tammy Nelson fills a critical role at TraneOregon, not only as chief financial officer and vice president of operations, but as a leader tasked with creating culture where business and employees thrive.

Originally hired as controller for the firm, the University of Oregon graduate earned a master鈥檚 of business administration while working full-time.
For 14 years, she has worked to keep TraneOregon strong and profitable, managing the company through a critical period during the economic downturn. With the economy now on an upswing, Nelson continues to lead the company adaptation to the industry鈥檚 鈥渘ew normal.鈥�

Members of the National Association of Trane Franchise Holders often turn to her for guidance.聽 She frequently takes employees under her wing to teach them aspects of the business that will promote their success. She encourages employees to continue their education and promotes a healthy balance between family and work to create an atmosphere that becomes more of a lifestyle than simply a workplace.

As one of few women in an industry dominated by men, Nelson also has mentored and promoted seven women to leadership within her company, demonstrating that diversity is good for business and employees.

She is involved with the American Heart Association and the Go Red for Women campaign, promoting awareness of heart health issues for women.聽 She strongly supports company initiatives to get employees active in community organizations, fundraising and philanthropy, including Medical Teams International, United Way, the Pongo Fund to help fight animal hunger in Oregon, and the Oregon Food Bank.
