The Daily Journal of Commerce has opened nominations for its 2015 TopProjects Awards.
The awards, now in their 20th year, honor the best public and private buildings, renovations and transportation projects in Oregon and Southwest Washington.
In order to be considered for the awards, projects must be substantially completed by Dec. 31, 2014 and valued at $1 million or more.
The TopProjects awards have become an annual industry tradition, beginning in 1996. At first, projects were ranked by construction costs. However, in recent years, the event has evolved into a true competition, with nominated projects evaluated by a jury of local architects, engineers, contractors and developers.
This year, projects selected to move forward to the judging portion will be announced on Jan. 30.
Winning projects in the categories of public and private buildings, renovations, transportation and public works – along with the 2015 Project of the Year – will be announced during an event at the Oregon Convention Center on May 14. The event also will feature the presentation of a new award, the Energy Trust High Performance Building Award, sponsored by Energy Trust.
The deadline to submit nominations is Jan. 23, 2015. Nomination forms and entry requirements are available online at /topprojects-2015/. The entry fee, which includes a ticket to the awards event, is $85 per project.
Registration for the awards event will open on Feb. 2.
