Cresa Portland on Wednesday announced that it has been acquired by Chicago-based Jones Lang LaSalle in a move designed to increase its reach and 鈥渃reate a more powerful platform鈥� in Portland.

Cresa Portland previously was an independently-owned office specializing in representation of corporate real estate tenants. The firm provides relocation, global portfolio and project management services to corporate clients in the technology and venture-backed growth sectors.

The company was founded in 1993 by Managing Principal Craig Reinhart. Reinhart, Managing Principal Chris Elsenbach and 11 other former Cresa employees will join JLL in a deal expected to close next week.

鈥淛LL is a strong company with a great team here in Portland,鈥� Reinhart said. 鈥淲e did it for our customers. JLL is strong not only in Portland, (but also) 鈥� in places like the U.K.鈥�

Cresa Portland’s 13-person staff will join the 150 local JLL employees. JLL Portland’s Managing Director Buzz Ellis said acquiring Cresa Portland was a natural move for the firm.

Reinhart said the change has been seamless, so far, and he expects the transition to be smooth for Cresa Portland’s clients.
