One of six winners of the Portland Development Commission鈥檚 2014 Startup PDX Challenge, NoAppFee.com, has launched an online property registry that claims to streamline the rental process for low-income renters.

NoAppFee is 鈥渁 national property registry which stores property listings with their unique screening criteria,鈥� according to a news release.

According to NoAppFee founder and CEO Tyrone Poole, the platform uses pure data to match landlords with potential renters, thus reducing the risk of a tenant being denied, eliminating multiple application fees and saving the renter from having to drive from place to place.

According to , the platform has created the first reverse search engine, where landlords can search from any listing in their portfolio. The program will then generate a list of every potential tenant in its database who qualifies for the rental.

NoAppFee is market-driven and does not rely on government funding, tax dollars, grants or donations.

鈥淭he very tool that will house millions of everyday market-rate families will generate the revenue used to construct new low-income housing communities, fund housing organizations and provide award letters to needy families,鈥� the website states.

The platform will also be available at workstations around Portland, including the Goose Hollow Family Shelter in the northwestern part of the city and the Gateway Center in the eastern.

Mayor Charlie Hales, who was present at the launch of NoAppFee.com at the Oregon Public House on Tuesday, had high praise for the new platform.

鈥淎 local entrepreneur like Tyrone with a great idea to address the challenges of a tight rental market is a winning combination for our community,鈥� Hales said.
