Jet Industries and its clients may have been playing golf during the company鈥檚 client appreciation day tournament on Aug. 21, but the event scored a home run for a nonprofit called Home of the Brave.
The golf tournament, now in its third year, raised more than $180,000 for the Home of the Brave, an organization that provides support to homeless veterans in Salem by helping them develop skills that include self-reliance and residential stability in order to reintegrate back into society. That amount makes the tournament, which was held at Illahe Hills Counry Club in Salem, Jet Industries鈥 most successful fundraiser.
In addition to networking and plenty of golf, the client appreciation event featured a display of Oregon Army National Guard vehicles as well as fatigue-clad soldiers from the Oregon Army National Guard.
The highlight of the day was the arrival of a Bell 214 ST helicopter carrying graduates from the Home of the Brave program, who were greeted and escorted to a reception by LTC Dominic Kotz and MAJ Abe Gilman from the Oregon Army National Guard.
