The Daily Journal of Commerce has announced the list of speakers and sessions for the 2015 Women of Vision Conference.

Now in its third year, the conference offers sessions dedicated to leadership and professional development as well as an environment where women involved in all aspects of the building industry can meet and network.

The conference this year is set for Oct. 15 at the Sentinel Hotel, 614 S.W. 11th Ave., in downtown Portland. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m., with opening remarks from 8 to 8:15.

Vanessa Van Edwards’ keynote presentation will begin at 8:15. A human behaviorist, Van Edwards is a columnist and book author. Her groundbreaking workshops and courses teach people how to succeed in business and life by understanding the hidden dynamics of others.

The conference also will feature a presentation by Emily Evans, executive director of the Women’s Foundation of Oregon, at 10 a.m.

The conference will be held in conjunction with the second annual Women of Vision Awards luncheon. Registration for the luncheon will take place at 11:15 a.m., with lunch service beginning at 11:45.

This year, the luncheon will include a panel discussion focused on ways that firms can encourage and assist women to rise to leadership positions in companies and firms. Lois Cohen, the founder and president of Lois D. Cohen Associates, will serve as moderator. Panelists will include Bart Eberwein, executive vice president of Hoffman Construction; Megan Neill, a civil engineer with Multnomah County, Shilpa Vepakomma, construction manager at Intel; and Larry Gescher, president of HP Civil Inc.

The luncheon will finish up with an awards ceremony honoring this year’s 25 Women of Vision.

Early-bird tickets for the conference, which includes admission to the luncheon, are $75. The price increases to $85 after Oct. 8.
