Cheryl Crow brings 30 years of experience to her position with one of the major construction lending banks in the region. In her 12 years with Eugene-based Pacific Continental Bank, she has been a vital part of developing its construction lending programs, growing her loan portfolio by 50 percent with $21 million in new loans in the past year alone.

The success of her approach is due, in part, to her focus on interaction with current and prospective clients, particularly smaller construction firms and first-time homebuyers.

鈥淚 explain the construction process in everyday terms,鈥� Crow said. 鈥淚 talk about efficiency and ways to improve their business, explaining new regulations that affect the loan process, RESPA regulations and so on. It鈥檚 a kind of mentoring with both the clients and the builders.鈥�

Crow has played a critical role in expanding the bank鈥檚 footprint to areas surrounding Eugene, including playing a large role in the development and construction of campus housing for both the University of Oregon and Oregon State areas. She serves as a key member of the Pacific Continental鈥檚 green team, which teaches and encourages awareness of the bank鈥檚 sustainability efforts.

鈥淚t鈥檚 all interwoven,鈥� Crow said. 鈥淲e emerged through the recession to a growing and vibrant market. It鈥檚 healthier than the last boom, with less speculators and more orientation to long-term growth.鈥�

Crow has been active in coordinating quarterly group volunteer activities for Pacific Continental鈥檚 Giving with Heart program, which provides employees with 40 hours of paid time to volunteer for community-based programs. She has been supportive of the United Way of Lane County and Looking Glass Youth and Family Services in addition to several other projects that included bank employee participation.

She serves on the St. Vincent De Paul Society Finance Committee and the St. Mary鈥檚 Episcopal Church Budget Committee, and is a member of the Home Builders Association of Lane County. She has also served as a board member for the Neighborhood Economic Development Corp. and the Oregon chapter of the American Red Cross.

鈥淚 try to follow what I learned early on,鈥� Crow said. 鈥淢y dad had a real estate company and my first jobs were for him. He taught me that the client鈥檚 needs were the most important part of his business. I haven鈥檛 forgotten that.鈥�
