Early assistance is sought for the remodel of two McDonald’s restaurants with new siding, accent walls, and removal of mansard roofs for new parapets. Both include reconfiguration of the drive-thru to to add a second lane and interior upgrades; Doug Bates of Kirkland, Wash.-based McDonalds USA LLC is the applicant for both projects. One is located at 10050 S.W. Barbur Blvd. and is owned by Tengolski Partners of Columbus, Ohio; the other is located at 12005 N. Center Ave. and is owned by Portland-based Buena-Hayden LLC.
A pre-application conference is requested for a proposed multifamily building with parking below on a 1.71-acre vacant lot located on the 800 block of Southwest Broadway Drive in the Southwest Hills neighborhood. A Type II historic resource review is requested for the remodeling of the Historic Fairmount Apartments, a 112-year-old building at 2561 N.W. Upshur St. listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Proposed interior work includes replacement of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire systems. Exterior work would include historic repair and maintenance with minor alterations, a new roof, replacement of exit stairs, repair and replacement of windows and doors, and replacement of courtyard paving and stoops. The applicant is Seth Moran of Michael Flowers Architect, and the owner is Fairmount NW LLC, which is registered to the Northeast Portland address of Urban Development Partners.
A Type II historic resource review is requested for a project to update the exterior of a historic building at 3704 N. Interstate Ave, part of Kaiser Permanente’s North Interstate campus. The applicant is Steven Schwaeber of Mahlum, and the owner is Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest.
A Type III historic resource review is requested for a project to expand the ground floor of the One Pacific Square building at 220 N.W. Second Ave. The proposed work includes adding 7,400 square feet to accommodate indoor bike parking, conference rooms, and exercise facility and retail/services uses, as well as new landscaping. A Type II historic resource review is sought for a project to perform exterior renovations to a non-contributing building, the Vista St. Clair Apartments, at 1000 S.W. Vista Ave. The applicant is Charles Kidwell of Leeb Architects, and the owner is Vista St. Clair Apartments LLC.
