Oregon OSHA is inviting employers across the state to participate in Safety Break for Oregon on Wednesday, May 11.
Now in the 13th year, the Safety Break day is designed to raise awareness about keeping employees safe in the workplace, with an eye toward reducing injuries.
Participation is voluntary, and participating businesses are encouraged to hold activities they determine will be most beneficial for their employees and workplace environments, according to OSHA. Recommended activities include safety training sessions and award recognition events.
Companies that participate in Safety Break day can sign up online to be entered for a chance to win one of three $100 pizza lunches for their workers. Winners will be selected in a random drawing, according to OSHA.
