The Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries is planning a thorough remodel of its office on the 10th floor of the Portland State Office Building at 800 N.E. Oregon St.

The project will make space for more civil rights inspectors, according to spokesman Charlie Burr. involves subdividing an office into two smaller work spaces, expanding a conference room and adding two customer service counters. All aspects are to proceed concurrently.

The project is being administered by the state Department of Administrative Services in Salem. Bidding closed April 26. The winner will have 90 days to complete construction once a notice to proceed is issued.

Two firms submitted bids, within $1,000 of each other – of Hillsboro ($58,000) and of Tualatin ($58,990). Both bids were well below the estimated low value of $75,000.
