Port of Portland Engineering Director Tom Peterson has been named 鈥淓ngineer of the Year鈥� by the Professional Engineers of Oregon. He has served the Port of Portland for more than 30 years, and now oversees an engineering department with a staff of 85. He also manages the capital construction program, and has been involved in projects ranging from runway and taxiway projects, complex electrical and control systems, expansion and renovation of a terminal building, and procurement of new container-handling cranes.
