Thirty-six women have been selected by the Daily Journal of Commerce as 2016 Women of Vision award winners.

The awards recognize women shaping the built environment in Oregon and Southwest Washington through their leadership, mentoring efforts, community involvement and promotion of industry diversity.

鈥淭his year鈥檚 list of honorees is not only the largest class we鈥檝e had, but also one of the most powerful and diverse groups we鈥檝e had,鈥� 91视频 Publisher Nick Bjork said. 鈥淭his year鈥檚 class represents the prestige this awards program has built over the years, as well as the direction we see it expanding in 鈥� to include other industries outside of architecture, engineering and construction that have a gender balance, and are full of women breaking ground and creating pathways for the next generation.鈥�

The 36 winners will be honored during an awards luncheon scheduled for Oct. 26, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the Sentinel Hotel, 614 S.W. 11th Ave., in Portland.

In addition to the awards presentation, the event will feature a panel discussion led by Grace Crunican, general manager of Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) and former director of the Oregon Department of Transportation. The panel will include women leaders in the transportation industry, several whose stories are included in 鈥淏oots on the Ground, Flats in the Boardroom: Transportation Women Tell Their Stories,鈥� a book Crunican co-authored.

The presenting sponsor of the awards program and luncheon is TriMet.

Early-bird tickets to the awards luncheon cost $75. Ticket prices increase by $10 after Oct. 12. Registration is available online.
