A mixed-use building under construction in the Northwest District will add 162 apartments, ground-floor retail, and office space to the newly-developing area. Andersen Construction is building Q21 on a 1.18-acre site on Northwest 21^st Avenue between Quimby and Pettygrove Streets, just outside of the bustling Con-Way Master Plan site. YBA Architects is the designer of the project, which consists of three connected buildings. The seven-story eastern portion along Northwest 21^st Avenue consists of five floors of steel stud-framed apartments over two floors of post-tensioned concrete. The ground floor will have retail space, and the second floor consists of office space.

The north and south buildings both reach five stories and are consists of three wood-framed floors over two floors of post-tensioned concrete. The south building will contain eight two-story townhomes facing Northwest Pettygrove Street, and the north building has ground-floor retail along Northwest Quimby Street.

The project’s 162 residential units range in size from studios to three-bedrooms, as well as 101 vehicular parking spaces and over 200 bicycle spaces. Work on the project began in the summer of 2015, and is slated for turnover Feb. 1. The project’s owner is Rosan Inc., which is owned in part by members of the Andersen family. Property management and leasing will be handled by the newly-formed Bridge Development and Management, also owned in part by Andersen family members.
