Victoria Blachly, a partner with Portland law firm Samuels Yoelin Kantor LLP, has been appointed by Oregon Gov. Kate Brown to a four-year term on the Commission on Uniform State Laws. It’s Oregon’s branch of the Uniform Law Commission, a national nonprofit that provides states with nonpartisan, well-conceived and well-drafted legislation to bring clarity and stability to critical areas of state statutory law. As one of Oregon’s three commissioners, Blachly will represent the state at national conferences, help research and draft state laws, and appear before legislators to explain and promote the passage of those laws. Blachly is a fiduciary litigator and trial attorney. She represents individual and corporate trustees, beneficiaries and personal representatives.
