  • Design advice is sought for a new six-story mixed-use building at 1337 E. Burnside St. Plans call for 208 residential units, retail space and parking on the ground floor, and one level of below-grade parking. The applicant is Jeremiah Jolicoeur of Seattle-based Alliance Realty Partners LLC, and the owner is John Potts.
  • Early assistance is sought for a project to develop a lot at Southeast 160th Avenue and Division Street into a storage facility. The applicant is Jake Walker of Austin, Texas-based Leon Capital Group, and the owner is Khalil Azar.
  • Early assistance is requested for a new mixed-use building with residential units, possible day care space and a café at 904 S.W. Gibbs St. The applicant is Alex Brooks of Ankrom Moisan Architects, and the owner is Yoshida Real Estate Holdings XVIII LLC.
  • Early assistance is sought for minor exterior and interior work on Veterans Memorial Coliseum at 300 N. Winning St. Proposed work includes replacement of existing exterior doors, removal of interior doors, and installation of new partitions, signage, lighting improvements and screening. The applicant is Linda Barnes of Merryman Barnes Architects, and the owner is the city of Portland.
  • A pre-application conference is requested for a proposed 18-lot subdivision on a 2.3-acre lot at 13234 S.E. Harold St. The proposal includes a new street and completion of Southeast Ellis Street, which dead-ends on either side of the lot. The applicant is Ante Skoro of Clearwater Homes LLC, and the owner is Alene Spaziani.
  • A pre-application conference is sought for a proposed new six-story mixed-use group living facility at 3185 N. Vancouver Ave. The project would include parking, shared resident amenity spaces and 240 living units. The applicant is Daniel Lee of Seattle-based Jackson | Main Architecture, and the owner is Solterra Strata LLC.
  • A pre-application conference is requested for a 26-lot land division within the R10c zone and a new street on a property on the 1100 block of Southwest Broadway Drive. The applicant is Larry Cowlishaw of Method Construction, and the owner is Guenther LLC of Westlake Village, California.
  • A Type III conditional use review is sought for a new six-story residential project at 1715 N.W. Couch St. A separate Type III historic resource review has also been filed for the project. The development would include one level of below-grade commercial-use parking for the adjacent cathedral, and a partial level of at-grade parking for residential units. The applicants intend to have the plan vested under current code, and will provide information to complete the application within 180 days. The applicants are Craig Stockbridge and Katherine Schultz of GBD Architects, and the owner is St. Mary Catholic Cathedral of Immaculate Conception of Portland.
  • A Type II design review is sought for improvements to the Multnomah Athletic Club at 1849 S.W. Salmon St. Plans are to convert an existing employee lounge to a kitchen; the project includes a 10-foot pass-through window and a 30-foot extension of the existing canopy to the west to provide protection. The applicant is Anne Usher of GBD Architects, and the owner is Multnomah Amateur Athletic Club.
  • A Type II design review is sought for a new mixed-use building with below-grade parking at 19 N.E. Ivy St., where a surface parking lot sits currently. The applicant is John Carhart of Path Architecture, and the owner is Inner City Properties Inc.
  • A Type III design review is pending for a new six-story building with ground-floor retail space and a single story of underground parking on a quarter-block property at the southwest corner of Northeast Third Avenue and Schuyler Street. The applicant is Edward Cronin of Works Progress Architecture, and the owner is ENT Ventures V LLC, which is registered to developer Parker McNulty.
  • A Type III design review is sought for a new mixed-use building with housing and ground-floor retail space at 140 S.W. Columbia St. A proposed 20-story project at the site was seen for design advice in October 2016. The full-block property, owned by Downtown Development Group, currently has a surface parking lot and a parking garage that serve the adjacent KOIN Tower. The applicant is Dustin White of GBD Architects, and the owner is Lot 53 LLC.
  • A Type III design review is pending for a proposed five-story, 56,558-square-foot multifamily building at 1500 N.E. Irving St. The building would include 80 units and a parking garage. A pre-application conference requested for the project in December 2016 was for a five-story, 60-unit building. The applicant is Mike Coyle of Faster Permits, and the owner is SCRE II Eastside LP of Vancouver, British Columbia.
  • A Type III design review is sought for a new seven-story apartment building with 100 residential units at 1327 N.W. 19th Ave, which currently is the site of a 133-year-old single-family home. A pre-application conference filed for the project in December 2016 was for an 82-unit building. The applicant is Bob Thompson of TVA Architects, and the owner is Sowders LLC.
  • A Type III design review is sought for a new six-story, 94-unit mixed-use building with apartment units at 1111 N.W. 16th Ave. The applicant is Joshua Scott of KOZ Development, and the owner is 1111 Building LLC.
  • A Type III design review is pending for a 14-story building occupying half a city block at 550 S.E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. The approximately $40 million mixed-use building, co-developed by Beam Development and Urban Development + Partners, was seen for design advice in December. The structure would include two levels of below-grade parking, ground-floor retail space, hotel suites on floors two through four, residential units on floors five through 13, and hotel amenity space on the top floor. The applicants are Alex Porter and Don Lee of Works Progress Architecture, and the owner is Burns Bros Inc.
  • A Type III design review is sought for development of Block 40 at 3714 S.W. Macadam Ave. in the South Waterfront. Two seven-story buildings are proposed for the site, each with below-grade structured parking. The applicant is Kurt Schultz of SERA Architects, and the owner is FAVA LLC, which is registered to real estate broker Doug Bean.
  • A Type III historic resource review is sought for Block 33, Guardian Real Estate Services’ proposed full-block mixed-use building at 125 N.W. Fourth Ave. The project was seen by the Historic Landmarks Commission for design advice on Jan. 23. The applicant is Michael Perso of William Kaven Architecture, and the owner is Block 33 Investment Partners LLC.
  • A Type III land division review is sought for an 18-lot subdivision with a new public street at 10701 S.W. 25th Ave. An existing house will remain temporarily and be demolished during a second phase. The applicant is Mark Dane of Mark Dane Planning, and the owners are Gary Schoenberg and Laurie Rutenberg.
