Permits issued

• An $874,000 permit was issued for the alteration of a building at the Jubitz Travel Center at 10210 N. Vancouver Way. Improvements are to include an interior remodel of the building’s eastern portion, expansion of existing restrooms, and a remodel of a lounge area. The applicant is Mike Coyle of Faster Permits, the owner is Fleet Leasing Inc., and the contractor is R&H Construction.

• An $800,000 permit was issued for a value-added revision to the main permit for construction of a new Portland State University athletic facility at 930 S.W. Hall St. The revision includes the interior remodel of sports medicine and visitor locker room to include a new hydrotherapy and ice room. The applicant is Willis DeWitt of Woofter Architecture, and the contractor is Fortis Construction.

• A $2.4 million permit was issued for a tenant improvement in an office building at 1400 N.W. 22nd Ave., including building out space for new offices, conference rooms, an enlarged restroom, new restrooms, a lunch room, and open office space. The applicant is Mike Coyle of Faster Permits, the owner is Robert Jensen, and the contractor is R&H Construction.

• An $89,000 alteration permit was issued to repair the facade on the east elevation of a building at 1400 S.W. Fifth Ave. It was evacuated for several days last month when facade materials began falling. The applicant is Dan Dittmer of building owner Melvin Mark Cos., and the contractor is Melvin Mark Construction Co.

• A $1.4 million new construction permit was issued for a three-story, 10-unit apartment building at 4305 N. Montana Ave. The applicant is Ed Bruin of Edge Development, the owner is Fern Valley Properties LLC, and the contractor is Elliott Properties Inc.

• A $7.4 million permit was issued for revisions to developer Urban Asset Advisors’ Multnomah Village Apartments project at 7711 S.W. Capitol Highway. Revisions due to value engineering include converting live-work units to retail spaces, changes to a stormwater facility, an erosion control plan, and relocation of a grease interceptor. The applicant is Mike Coyle of Faster Permits, the owner is MVUAA LLC, and the contractor is Bremik Construction.

Permit intakes

• Seattle-based Freiheit & Ho Architects has applied for permits to add to three McDonald’s restaurants. All are due to gain accessibility upgrades to bathrooms, new customer service counters, mansard roof replacements with parapet roofs, and drive-thru upgrades. A $537,000 permit is sought for a location at 12109 N.E. Glisan St. owned by McDonald’s of Hawaii Development Co, a $614,000 permit is sought for a location at 3208 N.W. Yeon St. owned by McDonald’s USA LLC, and a $570,000 permit is sought for a location at 5615 S.E. 82nd Ave. owned by McDonald’s Corp. All three projects are out to bid.

• A $14,000,000 permit is sought for construction of a seven-story, 73-unit multifamily building on the northwest corner of Southwest Park Avenue and Columbia Street, a quarter-block lot owned by Downtown Development Group. The ground floor will contain parking for 12 cars and 38 bikes, a leasing office, a residential lobby, building services and three residential loft units. One-third of the building’s units will be set aside for households making 80 percent of median family income. The applicant is GBD Architects, and the owner is Front & Pine LLC. The project’s developer is BPM Real Estate Group.

• A $1 million permit for construction of a three-story, 12-unit apartment building at 4726 S.E. Belmont St. is under review. The applicant is Bayard Mentrum of Mentrum Architecture, and the owner/contractor is Structure Redevelopment LLC.
