Construction crews are set to break ground Monday on a 150,000-square-foot campus in Hillsboro for First Tech Federal Credit Union.

The new campus places First Tech squarely in the Sunset Corridor’s tech-and-sneakers economy. The credit union has served Nike employees for 30 years, and Intel employees for 25 years, said Monique Little, First Tech’s “chief people officer.”

First Tech has grown into one of the largest credit unions in the United States. It serves half a million members across the country.

First Tech will decamp from approximately 100,000 square feet of leased space in Beaverton and Hillsboro after delivery of the new campus, which is expected during the third quarter of 2018.

The project marks the credit union’s first real-estate development.

“This will be our first endeavor of a project that will be owned by our credit union,” Little said.

The campus will be built on a 17-acre parcel at Brookwood Parkway and Dawson Creek. The five-story design is by Hacker; the general contractor is .

First Tech has 650 employees at its corporate office, and 13 credit union branches in Oregon.
