Permits issued

  • A $3.08 million permit was issued on a deferred submittal for aluminum curtain wall and glazing for the Portland State University School of Business Administration at 631 S.W. Harrison St. The applicant is Shawn Forester of Culver Glass, and the owner is the Oregon State Board of Higher Education.
  • A $4.5 million permit was issued for alterations to the Portland Plaza condominium tower at 1500 S.W. Fifth Ave. Work will include repaving a podium courtyard, installing new glass and steel canopies at the west elevation, south and east elevations, and replacing an existing pool and pool deck. The applicant is Mark Stoller of Opsis Architecture, the owner is the Portland Plaza Condominium Owners Association, and the contractor is Andersen Construction.
  • A $414,000 permit was issued for a tenant improvement in the lobby of the Sheraton Portland Airport Hotel at 8235 N.E. Airport Way. Improvements include relocation of the reception desk and a wall between the vestibule and reception area, a new wall in the dining area to create a private lounge with a new bar, ADA upgrades to bathrooms, and improvements to parking lots. The applicant is John Arth of Lundin Cole Architects, the owner is the Port of Portland (Leased Sheraton Portland Airport), and the contractor is Lynden, Washington-based Elements Hospitality Inc.
  • Two demolition permits totaling $332,500 were issued for crews to raze a pair of buildings comprising a half-block along Southwest Taylor Street between Second and Third avenues. A $255,000 permit was issued for demolition of the Ancient Order of United Workmen Temple building at 915 S.W. Second Ave, and a $77,500 permit was issued for demolition of an adjacent single-story building at 902 S.W. Third Ave. The demolished buildings will be replaced by a 10-story office building, part of Third & Taylor Development’s redevelopment of nearly a full city block that will also include a new hotel. The applicant is Brad Bane of Ankrom Moisan Architects, and the contractor is Turner Construction.
  • A $1.264 million permit was issued for construction of a new three-story, 18-unit apartment building at 4950 N.E. Seventh Ave. The applicant is Bayard Mentrum, the owner is Riverwood NW Properties LLC, and the contractor is AAA Properties Inc. of Vancouver, Washington.
  • A $17 million permit was issued for construction of Innovative Housing Inc.’s 12-story, 93-unit affordable housing building at 1620 N.W. 14th Ave. The applicant is Spencer Deinard of LRS Architects, the owner is the city of Portland, and the contractor is Bremik Construction.
  • A $7.692 million permit was issued for construction of a new four-story, 84-unit apartment building with a basement garage and bike storage developed by NBP Capital at 310 S.E. 12th Ave. The applicant is Jennifer Nye of William Wilson Architects PC, the owner is NBP 310 SE 12th LLC, and the contractor is Path Construction LLC.
  • An $813,500 permit was issued for the renovation of the west end of Ventura Park at 11339 S.E. Stark St. Improvements are to include relocation of two accessible parking spaces, addition of a new Portland Loo, renovation of a play area, new walkways, and relocation of benches. The applicant is Gary Datka of Portland Parks and Recreation, and the contractor is Duke Construction & Excavation.
  • A $648,000 permit was issued for improvements to Whitaker Ponds Nature Park at 7008 N.E. 47th Ave., including a new parking lot with ADA parking, new trails, and a portable toilet enclosure. The applicant is Allison Rouse of Portland Parks and Recreation, the owner is Metro, and the contractor is Raimore Construction.

  • A $5.25 million permit is under review for the full renovation of a 90-year-old warehouse building at 808 S.E. Alder St. The project would include a change of use and occupancy, addition of a third story, and a full seismic upgrade. The applicant is Mike Coyle of Faster Permits, the owner is Roberti Investment Co LLC, and the contractor is Fortis Construction.
  • A $350,000 permit is under review for a tenant improvement for a new brewpub at Intrinsic Ventures’ Dairy Building at 2715 S.E. Eighth Ave. Improvements are to include a change of occupancy to A2 and F2, new demising wall, partition walls for brewery, kitchen and restrooms, and main pub seating. The applicant is Blaine Burris of Ankrom Moisan Architects, the owner is Dairy Building LLC, and the contractor is Jack Haedinger of Pacific Crest Construction.
  • A $435,000 permit is under review for the remodel of an existing restaurant and bar at 1510 S.W. Harbor Way. The project would include new finishes, reconfiguration of sitting and bar areas, and exterior accessibility upgrades. The applicant is Mike Coyle of Faster Permits, the owner is XHR Portland LLC of Orlando, Florida, and the contractor is out to bid.
  • Three permits totaling over $82 million are under review for construction of Urban Renaissance Group’s and Security Properties’ three-building, one-and-a-half-block Press Blocks development at 817 S.W. 17th Ave. in Goose Hollow. Permits sought include a $659,000 permit for excavation and shoring for a full-block development, a $52 million permit for a 24-story, half-block multifamily building atop a four-story, full-block parking garage, a $4.5 million permit for a four-story, quarter-block mixed-use building, and a $24.8 million permit for an eight-story office building with 1.5 levels of below-grade parking. The applicant is Michelle Schulz of GBD Architects, the owner is URG OPB 17th Avenue LLC, and the contractor is Lease Crutcher Lewis.
  • Two permits valued at over $71 million are under review for Williams & Dame Development’s and Bridge Housing’s two-building mixed-income housing development at 2095 S.W. River Parkway. A $37.7 million permit is sought for a 13-story apartment building over a concrete podium structure with ground-floor commercial space and daylight basement parking, and a $33.4 million permit is sought for a six-story five-over-one building with a concrete podium, ground-floor commercial space, and daylight basement parking. The owner is the Portland Development Commission (Prosper Portland).
