  • Early assistance is sought for a new four-story apartment building with 40-50 units, ground-floor retail space and parking, at 7661 S.W. Capitol Highway. The project will aim to meet community design standards. The applicant is Kurt Schultz of SERA Architects, and the owner is Multnomah Station LLC.
  • Early assistance is sought for improvements to the Congregation Kesser Israel synagogue at 6698 S.W. Capitol Highway. Proposed changes include remodeling the building’s interior, expanding a portion of the front of the building to add office and conference space and define a formal entrance facing Southwest Capitol Highway, adding restrooms, and renovating the driveway and sidewalks. Also, expansion to the back of the building would include a new daylight basement and a new sanctuary at the main level. The applicant is Neil Lee of LEEKA Architecture & Planning, and the owner is Congregation Kesser Israel.

  • Early assistance is sought for code information concerning the renovation of a Starbucks store at 6003 N.E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. The applicant is Zac Horton of Faster Permits, and the owner is David Bussone of San Jose, California.
  • Early assistance is requested for code information concerning proposed buildings at Multnomah University, located at 8435 N.E. Glisan St. One proposed building would have an 8,000-square-foot footprint and a 25-foot setback from Northeast Glisan Street, and two additional buildings planned for the future would have similar setbacks and larger footprints. The applicant is Mark Hadley of WH Pacific, and the owner is Multnomah University.
  • A Type Ix historic resource review is sought for a proposal to add three windows at the ground-floor level on the north elevation of a building at 219 N.W. Fourth Ave. in the New Chinatown/Japantown Historic District. The applicant is Brian Apple of Emerick Architects, and the owner is Willsing LLC of Madera, California.
  • A Type IIx historic resource review is requested to replace existing storefront entryways with a total of four new storefront and glazing bays at 715 S.W. Morrison St. The applicant is Stephen Blackstone of Interior Architects, and the owners are Goodman Generations III LLC and Pipab LLC.
  • A Type IIx land division review is sought for demolition of an existing single-family residence at 8636 S.E. Harney St., and division of the 1.23-acre parcel into nine lots for seven detached homes and two duplex units. The applicants are Justin Nguyen of Wynn Design and Paul Tran of Jetset Investment LLC, and the owner is Bich Pease.
  • A Type III planned development review is sought for construction of 18 new multifamily units at 4250 N.E. Portland Highway. The project would include on-site vehicle and pedestrian circulation pathways, 19 parking spaces in a new parking lot on the north end of the property, covered loading and bicycle parking spaces, outdoor garden and recreation areas, and landscaping. An existing single-family residence would remain. The applicant is Terry Amundson of Koble Creative Architecture, and the owner is Fernhill Crossing LLC.
