Each year, Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries employees track the issues they receive the most questions about.

Those issues are then used to compile a list of educational sessions for the agency鈥檚 annual employment law conference, which this year will take place Nov. 6 and 7 at the Oregon Convention Center.

Topics to be tackled during 28 sessions in 2017 include workplace harassment, rightful discharge, social media, investigations of misconduct and union grievances, and Oregon leave laws. The sessions will be led by BOLI representatives as well as some of the state鈥檚 top employment attorneys.

The conference also will feature representatives from state agencies such as the Workers鈥 Compensation Division, the Department of Revenue, the Department of Human Services and the Employment Department.

BOLI expects the conference to fill quickly. The event has seen a 40 percent increase in attendance since 2013, according to the agency.

The cost for a one-day pass is $369. Full conference admission is $499. Registration is available online at . Information also is available by calling 971-673-0825 or by emailing Nadine Scruton at [email protected].
