• Early assistance is sought for the proposed development of a site that is split-zoned CG and R5. A four-story apartment building with over 20 units is proposed for the commercial portion of the site, at 6541 N. Denver Ave., and two new single-family homes are proposed for the residential portion. All existing structures on the site will be demolished. The applicant is Jennifer Nye of William Wilson Architects PC, and the owner is Michael Fitz.

• Early assistance is pending for a new apartment building with 146 units, including 22 affordable units, at 2580 N.W. Upshur St., where a 10,000-square-foot warehouse building sits currently. The applicant is David Mullens of Urban Development Group, and the owner is CFC Group LLC.

• Early assistance is sought for a new four-story mixed-use building at 2245 S.E. Powell Blvd., where a 5,225-square-foot retail building sits currently. The applicant is Michael Perso of William Kaven Architecture, and the owner is Cynthia Mendoza.

• Early assistance is requested for a new four-story, 18-unit multifamily building at 506 N.E. 53rd Ave., where a 124-year-old retail building sits currently. The applicant is Mark Madden of WDC Properties, and the owner is Billy Lymm.

• Early assistance is sought for Mortenson Development’s proposed 200-room hotel at 9298 N.E. Cascades Parkway. The hotel will have a straight orientation and primary frontage along Northeast Cascades Parkway, and include 180 parking spaces, ground-level amenities and an off-road trail along the southern portion of the property. The applicant is Brian Gunn of M.A. Mortenson Company, and the owner is the Port of Portland.

• Early assistance is requested for a new 14-unit apartment building at 7246 N. Mohawk Ave., with follow-up questions from an early assistance meeting for the property held in 2015. The applicant is Lane Lowry of Optimal Productivity Systems Inc., and the owner is Portland Housing Group LLC, which is registered to Lowry.

• A Type III design review is pending for the Oregon Convention Center plaza, entries and interior project at 777 N.E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. The project includes a new programmable plaza and amphitheater, enhanced pedestrian connection to the main entry, and a new MLK entrance plaza. The applicant is Brent Shelby of owner Metro.
