Do you know a longtime local building industry leader who deserves recognition for her or his accomplishments and efforts helping shape the region鈥檚 built environment?

Do you know a rising star who is already making a positive impact on the A | E | C industries?

If so, we want to know.

The Daily Journal of Commerce is seeking nominations for the first 91视频Oregon Phenoms & Icons awards event. The event will honor 10 up-and-coming stars under age 40, and 10 industry icons over age 60, on the evening of Dec. 14 in downtown Portland.

鈥淢entorship is a key part of personal development, company development and industry development,鈥 Daily Journal of Commerce Publisher Nick Bjork said. 鈥淭he aim of this event is not only to recognize two key demographics of the building industry, but also to create a unique, fun networking opportunity that builds lasting mentor-mentee relationships.鈥

Nominations are free to submit, and the nomination deadline is Nov. 17. The form to nominate a potential honoree is available at .

Successful under-40 candidates are professionals who have not only become leaders in their work, but also have spearheaded positive change within their company, and their industry as a whole. This could be starting a new committee in the office, volunteering within the community or taking a significant role within an industry group.

Successful over-60 candidates are people who do such great work that they鈥檝e become synonymous with it. These people also have a dedicated interest in leadership and mentorship, helping create opportunities for the next generation.

Honorees will be announced on Nov. 24. The event will take place in the Grand Ballroom at the Sentinel Hotel from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The cost to attend the event is $65 and includes food and drinks.

If you鈥檙e interested in sponsoring the event, please contact Daily Journal of Commerce Advertising Director Bill Beyer at [email protected] or 503-802-7232.
