Building permits issued

  • A $2.2 million structural permit is under inspection for micro-piles and shotcrete slabs on the Providence Park expansion project at 1844 S.W. Morrison St. The applicant is Chelsea Grassinger of Allied Works Architecture, the contractor is Turner Construction Co., and the owner is the city of Portland.
  • A $2.8 million alteration permit was issued for a tenant improvement for a first-time medical office tenant at 5005 N.E. Sandy Blvd. The applicant is Ben Rippe of SERA Architects, the contractor is A C Schommer & Sons, and the owner is 5035 Sandy LLC, which is managed by Craig Kelly of Venerable Properties.

Building permit intakes

  • A $17.075 addition permit is under review for a city-owned parking garage at 730 S.W. 10th Ave. Proposed work includes replacement of northeast and southwest stair and elevator towers, demolition of northwest and southeast stair and elevator towers, repair and maintenance throughout the parking levels, and accessibility upgrades. The work will also include reconfiguration of the first-floor layout, including partitions for shell tenant spaces at the northeast and southwest corners. The applicant is Christine Rumi of FFA Architecture & Interiors, and the contractor is Balfour Beatty Construction LLC. A separate permit is under review for selective demolition of the northeast and southwest corner stair and elevator towers, interior partitions in the first-floor tenant spaces, and mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
  • A $1 million permit filed on deferred submittal, for post-tensioned concrete shop drawings and calculations on a seven-story mixed-use building at 1378 N.W. 18th Ave., is under review. The applicant is Michael Johnson of Holland Partner Group, the contractor is Holland Construction Inc., and the owner is Keller Holland Pettygrove Investors LLC.
  • A $575,000 permit is under review for interior revisions to 9North (formerly known as Station Place Lot 5), an office project under construction at 1250 N.W. Ninth Ave. Proposed revisions are to the lobby and restrooms. The applicant is Jeremy Geddes of Hacker, the contractor is Balfour Beatty Construction, and the owner is MG-Pearl JV LLC, which is managed by Peter Savoie of Denver-based Miller Global Properties.

Facility permits issued

  • A $2.365 million alteration permit was issued for interior and exterior demolition on the Portland Building at 1120 S.W. Fifth Ave. The permit will not be finalized until structural and seismic work is completed. The applicant is Erica Ceder of DLR Group, the contractor is Balfour Beatty Construction, and the owner is the city of Portland.
  • A $2.9 million alteration permit was issued for improvements to a 104-year-old office building at 715 S.W. Morrison St. Proposed improvements include a tenant improvement for a Capital One Café and a seismic upgrade, as well as demolition of walls, doors, stairs, storefront and floor sections, and new walls, doors, ceilings, stairs, plumbing and electrical. The applicant is Stephen Blackstone of IA Interior Architects, the contractor is Balfour Beatty Construction, and the owners are Goodman Generations III LLC and Pipab LLC.
  • A $1.4 million alteration permit was issued for improvements to Menashe Properties’ new office building at 1155 S.W. Morrison St. Improvements would include creation of a ground-floor tenant space, demolition of walls, new walls to create a new tenant space with conference rooms, a lobby/reception area, open office, ceilings, floors and finishes, and electrical. The applicant is Sera Kimura of Green Gables, the contractor is Lease Crutcher Lewis, and the owner is Morrison Development LLC.
  • A $1.2 million alteration permit was issued for a gymnasium tenant improvement at Daimler Trucks North America, at 4435 N. Channel Ave. The project includes new walls to a basketball court/assembly area, locker rooms, showers and restrooms. The applicant is Chris Walker of CIDA, and the contractor is Turner Construction Co.
  • A $740,000 alteration permit was issued for improvements to the medical research building at 3181 S.W. Sam Jackson Park Road, on OHSU’s Marquam Hill campus. The work is to include patching areas around upgraded infrastructure work on the ground floor and floors three through nine. The applicant is Marcus Morgan of PKA Architects, and the contractor is Skanska USA Building.
  • A $520,000 permit was issued on deferred submittal for suspended ceilings at the Knight Cancer Research Building, at 2720 S.W. Moody Ave. The applicant is William Russo, the contractor is McCarthy Andersen A Joint Venture LLC, and the owner is OHSU.

Facility permit intakes

  • A $575,000 alteration permit is under review for a 10th-floor tenant improvement on the 13th floor of the Wells Fargo Center at 1300 S.W. Fifth Ave. The applicant is Bill Bezio of Mackenzie, and the owner is First Interstate Bank of Oregon.
  • A $700,000 alteration permit is under review for a tenant improvement for ESCO on the eighth floor and partial seventh floor of the Montgomery Park building, at 2701 N.W. Vaughn St. The applicant is Kate Stuart of GBD Architects, the contractor is Johnson Project Solutions Inc., and the owner is Montgomery Park I LLC.
  • A $2 million landslide/slope repair permit is under review for landslide repair and mitigation at the Terwilliger Plaza retirement community, at 2545 S.W. Terwilliger Blvd. The applicant is Lucas Mally of owner Terwilliger Plaza, and the contractor is Rock Supremacy LLC of Bend.
