Building permits issued

• A $1.2 million alteration permit was issued for a tenant improvement at 5216 N.E. Sandy Blvd. The work will include a seismic upgrade, a new restaurant and office space. The applicant is Casey Maxwell of Justice for Janitors, the contractor is Robert Cote, and the owners are Robert and Diane Bauer.

• A $3.661 million alteration permit was issued for a tenant improvement for software maker Autodesk at the Towne Storage building, at 221 S.E. Ankeny St. The scope of work includes build-out of floors two, four and five for new office space, build-out of a portion of floor one for a new main entry area, and addition of a second-floor mezzanine. The applicant is Cesar Villanueva of Mackenzie, the contractor is Fortis Construction, and the owner is Towne Storage Property LLC of El Segundo, California.

• An $850,000 alteration permit was issued for relocation and replacement of a dock at Portland Yacht Club, 1241 N.E. Marine Drive. The applicant is Don Etter, the contractor is Bellingham Marine Industries Inc., and the owner is Portland Yacht Club.

• A total of 20 demolition permits were issued and six more are under inspection for demolition of 26 buildings on the ESCO Corp. property at 2141 N.W. 25th Ave. The applicant is Chad Hoffart of Northwest Demolition and Dismantling, the contractor is Brian H. Smith Demolition and Excavating Inc., and the owner is ESCO Corp.

• A $17.156 million new construction permit is under inspection for a seven-story, 140-unit apartment building with a below-grade parking garage, bike parking and first-floor retail space, at 5325 N. Interstate Ave. The applicant is Ryan Miyahira of Ankrom Moisan Architects, the contractor is Fairfield Development LP of San Diego, and the owner is R&A Eugene Properties LLC.

• A $522,853 new construction permit was issued for a one-story, 1,465-square-foot building for a rehearsal studio and prop shop for Portland Playhouse at 610 N.E. Prescott St. The applicant is Megan McKinnie of SERA Architects, the contractor is Colas Construction, and the owner is Playhouse on Prescott LLC.

• A $1.2 million new construction permit was issued for a one-story fellowship center with a mezzanine and basement, multipurpose area, commercial kitchen, restrooms and storage space, at 3850 S.E. 11th Ave. The applicant is Scot Sutton of SG Architecture LLC, and the owner is Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Portland, Oregon.

Building permit intakes

• An $813,868 addition permit is under review for the addition of two buildings on the south end of an existing structure at 12106 N.E. Ainsworth Circle. The applicant is Nick Merriss of Smith Monroe Gray Engineers Inc., the contractor is Phoenix Industrial Inc., and the owner is Timberland Development Co. LLC.

• A $1.107 million new construction permit is under review for a three-story, six-unit multifamily building attached via a breezeway to a six-unit apartment building at 9809 S.E. Holgate Blvd. The applicant is Justin Nguyen of Wynn Design, the contractor is Columbia Equities Inc., and the owner is NT Development LLC.

• A $6 million new construction permit is under review for a three-story apartment building with 53 studio and one-bedroom units at 2789 N.E. Halsey St. The applicant is David Mullens of owner UDG 28th & Halsey LLC, and the contractor is SK Hoff Construction LLC.

• An $886,741 new construction permit is under review for a two-story, eight-unit townhouse-style apartment building at 1833 N.E. Second Ave. The applicant is Bob Schatz of Allusa Architecture, and the owner is Kristen Bakouros.

• A $1.150 million new construction permit filed on deferred submittal, for exterior light-gauge metal framing on an affordable housing building under construction at 1620 N.W. 14th Ave., is under review. The applicant is Dulce Weston of contractor Bremik Construction, and the owner is Raleigh Housing LP.

• A $579,450 new construction permit filed on deferred submittal, for pre-cast architectural concrete on the Multnomah County Gladys McCoy Health Department Headquarters project at 600 N.W. Hoyt St., is under review. The applicant is Liz Mayer of Northwest Precast LLC, the contractor is JE Dunn, and the owner is Multnomah County.

• A $654,052 new construction permit filed on deferred submittal, for joist and girder shop drawings and calculations for a building at 10101 N.E. Alderwood Road, is under review. The applicant is Chris Gregg of contractor Perlo Construction, and the owner is the Port of Portland.

Facility permits issued

• A $1.4 million alteration permit was issued for a lower-level tenant improvement at the Wells Fargo Center at 1300 S.W. Fifth Ave. The applicant is Bill Bezio of Mackenzie, the contractor is Swinerton Builders, and the owner is First Interstate Bank of Oregon.

• A $1.915 million alteration permit was issued for a tenant improvement for Adpearance at the Field Office building at 2035 N.W. Front Ave. The applicant is Alex Aujero of Fluent Design, the contractor is Lease Crutcher Lewis, and the owner is Park Office LLC.

• A $1.4 million alteration permit was issued for a second- and third-floor tenant improvement at Menashe Properties’ new office building at 1155 S.W. Morrison St. The applicant is Sera Kimura of Green Gables, the contractor is Lease Crutcher Lewis, and the owner is Morrison Development LLC.

• A $929,000 alteration permit was issued for a Kidder Mathews tenant improvement at the One Main Place building at 101 S.W. Main St. The applicant is Anne Rogness of ZGF Architects, the contractor is Balfour Beatty Construction, and the owner is Madison-OFC One Main Place OR LLC.

• A $702,340 alteration permit was issued for a first-floor bike hub at the Pacwest Center, at 1211 S.W. Fifth Ave. The applicant is Kent Pottebaum of GBD Architects, the contractor is Russell Construction Inc., and the owner is TR Pacwest LLC.

• A $550,000 alteration permit was issued for improvements to bar and office space at the Rose Quarter, at 1 N. Center Court St., including new walls for private offices, new bar/lounge area, vestibule, entry, and gondola hold area. The applicant is Josh Peterson of GBD Architects, the contractor is Lorentz Bruun, and the owner is the city of Portland (Leased Portland Arena MGMT LLC).

• A $2.743 million new construction permit was issued on deferred submittal for storefronts, curtainwalls and embeds on the Rood Family Pavilion project at 3410 S.W. Bond Ave. A $3.180 million permit was also issued on deferred submittal for metal wall panels on the project, as was a $444,127 permit for exterior metal framing. The applicant is Jeff Bowen of contractor Hoffman Construction, and the owner is Oregon Health & Science University.

Facility permit intakes

• A $1.5 million alteration permit is under review for modifications to a United Parcel Services facility at the PDX Logistics Center at 9601 N.E. Alderwood Road. Improvements would include demolition and replacement of 78,000 square feet of concrete slab and installation of new equipment platforms. The applicant is Mike Coyle of Faster Permits, the contractor is Layton Construction Company of Sandy, Utah, and the owner is the Port of Portland.
