• Early assistance is pending for improvements to the existing exterior play area on the south side of the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital building at 700 S.W. Campus Drive. The applicant is Shawn Salatino of KPFF Consulting Engineers, and the owners are the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the state of Oregon.

• Early assistance is sought for the expansion of a parking lot at an office building at 8338 N.E. Alderwood Road. Approximately 7,500 square feet of landscape area would be replaced with approximately 19 parking stalls. No applicant is listed; the owner is the Port of Portland (Leased Yoshida Family Limited Partnership).

• Early assistance is pending for the historic renovation of a series of historic fountains and parks that are part of the Open Space Sequence, including Keller Fountain, Pettygrove Park, Lovejoy Fountain and the Source Fountain. Improvements are to include fountain mechanical renovations, concrete and masonry restoration, lighting upgrades, ADA improvements, drainage improvements, and overall restoration of the plazas to help them function better and be better maintained, while respecting the original design intent. The applicant is Sandra Burzos of Portland Parks & Recreation, and the owner is the city of Portland.

• Early assistance is sought for the expansion of approximately 1,100 square feet of the Interstate Radiation Oncology Building on Kaiser Permanente’s campus at 3620 N. Interstate Ave. The applicant is Breeze Griffin of Anderson Dabrowski Architects, and the owner is Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest.

• A pre-application conference is sought to discuss a 17-lot partition of a parcel on the 12300 block of Southwest Clara Lane. Proposed lots would range in size between 6,200 and 10,000 square feet, and an open space tract and new street are proposed. The applicant is Dan Williams of Faster Permits, and the owners are Robert and Barbara Geiger.

• A pre-application conference is pending for a Type III review to remove a previous conditional use from a portion of a church site at Southeast 72nd Avenue and Knight Street for a future multifamily development. The applicant is Gene Pavlenko of Anamic Construction Inc., and the owner is Tremont Evangelical.

• A Type III conditional use review is pending for waste-related uses of a site at 701 N. Hunt St. Waste Management proposes to operate a medical waste sterilization, a 10-day hazardous waste transportation effort and a food waste processing operation at the site. The applicants are owner Wastech Inc. of Chicago, and Jim Denson of Waste Management of Oregon Inc.

• A Type II design review is sought for removal of existing storefront glass and installation of an ATM and a night depository for a bank at 320 N.W. 10th Ave., Unit RU106. The applicant is David Hardister of Woodblock Architecture, and the owner is West Tenth LLC of San Francisco.

• A Type II land division review is sought for the subdivision of a property at 15048 N.E. Sandy Blvd. into 20 lots, which would be developed with single-dwelling units. A 54-foot-wide public right-of-way is also proposed. The applicant is Margo Clinton of Bend-based SGS Development LLC, and the owner is Catherine Conn.
