Restore Oregon last month honored 10 historic rehabilitation projects in Oregon when it handed out the 2017 DeMuro Awards. They’re named after the late Art DeMuro, a developer recognized for exceptional preservation efforts. The winning projects were chosen for exhibiting extraordinary quality, creative problem-solving, and noteworthy community impact. They also showcase Oregon’s diverse architectural history and culture.

The projects honored in Portland included the Mason Ehrman Annex and Tower seismic strengthening, the Overland Warehouse, the Sovereign Hotel, the Swift Agency and the Trinity Episcopal Cathedral Access projects.

Two projects in Lake Oswego were honored: the Belluschi Pavilion and the Iron Company Worker’s Cottage.

Other honorees were: Leever Motor Co./Monarch Building (Medford); Oregon Supreme Court exterior rehabilitation (Salem); and the Oregon City Public Library (Oregon City).
