Building permits issued for Jan. 8-14

  • A $637,501 alteration permit was issued for the renovation of nine guest rooms at the Benson Hotel at 309 S.W. Broadway, including the Presidential Suite, the Grand Suite, and seven penthouse suites. The applicant is Amy Hartwell of Seattle-based GGLO Design, the contractor is Western Construction Services Inc., and the owner is Westcoast Benson Hotel Limited Partnership.
  • A $550,000 permit was issued on deferred submittal for a parking-level post-tensioned deck on PHK Development’s 162-unit condominium project at 2020 N.E. Multnomah St. The applicant is Jacob Taylor of ASI Structures, the contractor is Andersen Construction, and the owner is Sullivan’s Gulch Joint Venture LLC.
  • A pair of new construction permits were issued for BRIDGE Housing’s two-building Riverplace Parcel 3 affordable housing development on Southwest River Parkway. A $33,475,000 permit was issued for a six-story, five-over-one building with wood-framed apartments over a concrete podium structure with ground-floor commercial space and daylight basement parking. A second permit, valued at $37,693,000, was issued for a 13-story concrete apartment building with daylight basement parking. The applicant is Don Sowieja of Ankrom Moisan Architects, the contractor is Hoffman Construction, and the owner is Prosper Portland.

Facility permit intakes for Jan. 8-14

  • A $2,300,000 alteration permit is under review for a tenant improvement for Deschutes Brewery on Concourse D of Portland International Airport. The applicant is Mark Denmarsh of Landsdowne, Virginia-based SSP America, the contractor is JR Abbott Construction, and the owner is the Port of Portland.
  • A $600,000 alteration permit is under review for improvements for clothing retailer Zara at Pioneer Place, 340 S.W. Morrison St. The permit sought is for demolition work only to six suites on the concourse and street level to return the spaces to a shell for the tenant. The applicant is Thomas Barry of GGP, the owner is Pioneer Place LLC, and the contractor is out to bid.

Facility permits issued for Jan. 8-14

  • A $1,500,000 alteration permit was issued for a third-floor tenant improvement at the Block 300 building, 308 S.W. Second Ave., for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The applicant is Cate Sonnenberg of ZGF Architects, the contractor is Swinerton Builders, and the owner is PR Block 300 LLC.
