Building permits issued for March 19-25

• A $4,300,000 addition permit was issued for the renovation of an existing three-story, 12,462-square-foot office building, with a single-story, 2,000-square-foot addition and site improvements, at 821 S.E. 14th Ave. The applicant is Mike Coyle of Faster Permits, the contractor is Lease Crutcher Lewis, and the owner is The Nature Conservancy.

• A $98,000,000 addition permit was issued for the modernization of Grant High School at 2245 N.E. 36th Ave., including the seismic upgrade of the main building and construction of a new, seismically-independent gymnasium building. The applicant is Alyssa Leeviraphan of Mahlum Architects, the contractor is Andersen/Colas Construction, and the owner is Portland Public Schools.

• A $2,319,411 addition permit was issued for a tenant improvement for an existing food production tenant at The Redd on Salmon Street, at 831 S.E. Salmon St. The applicant is Ben Gates of Urban Patterns Architecture, the contractor is Walsh Construction Co., and the owner is The Redd LLC.

• An $893,000 alteration permit was issued for the renovation of a three-story office building at 5550 S.W. Macadam Ave. The applicant is Richard Grace of FFA Architecture & Interiors, the contractor is Lorentz Bruun, and the owner is WL-SKB Johns Landing 5550 Owner LLC.

• An $8,865,000 new construction permit was issued for construction of a new 90-unit apartment building with tuck-under parking at 5009 N. Interstate Ave. The applicant is Dan Williams of Faster Permits, the contractor is LCG Pence, and the owner is Aniva LLC.

• A $1,508,110 new construction permit was issued for construction of an off-load station, various skids, process piping and bollards and guard rails at 5528 N.W. Doane Ave. The applicant is Alice Williams of Sunoco Partners Marketing & Terminals LP of Sugar Land, Texas, the owner is Phillips 66 Company of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and the primary contractor is out to bid.

Building permit intakes for March 19-25

• A $1,426,240 alteration permit is under review for a tenant improvement at 121 S.W. Third Ave., including reconfiguration of a seating area and conversion of a private dining area to a bakery. The applicant is Mike Coyle of Faster Permits, the contractor is R&H Construction, and the owner is Ashford PH Partners LP of Dallas, Texas.

• A $2,000,000 alteration permit is under review for conversion of an office building at 6615 S.E. 52nd Ave. to a 32-unit apartment building. The applicant is Stephanie Fitzhugh of DiLoreto Architecture, the contractor is Skyline Construction Inc., and the owner is 52nd Avenue Apartments LLC.

• An $8,000,000 new construction permit is under review for a five-story wood-framed apartment building with 145 units at 2590 N.W. Upshur St. The applicant is David Mullens of Urban Development Group, the contractor is SK Hoff Construction, and the owner is CFC Group LLC.

• A $3,200,000 new construction permit is under review for an electrical substation at 12500 N.W. Marina Way. The applicant is Jennifer Santhouse of owner and contractor Portland General Electric Co.

Facility permits issued for March 19-25

• A $24,637,067 alteration permit was issued for the building enclosure package, exterior alterations and site improvements to the Portland Building at 1120 S.W. Fifth Ave. The applicant is Erica Ceder of DLR Group, the contractor is Balfour Beatty Construction, and the owner is the city of Portland.

• A $1,500,000 alteration permit was issued for modifications to the UPS facility at the PDX Logistics Center at 9601 N.E. Alderwood Rd. Improvements are to include demolition and replacement of 78,000 square feet of concrete slab, installation of new equipment platforms, and interior improvements. The applicant is Mike Coyle of Faster Permits, the contractor is Layton Construction Company of Sandy, Utah, and the owner is the Port of Portland. A $250,000 mechanical alteration permit was also issued for the project; the contractor is Hunter Davisson.

• A $500,000 addition permit was issued for post-tensioned deck on levels nine through 18 of the Multnomah County Central Courthouse being built at 1200 S.W. First Ave. The applicant is Jeff Gardner of contractor Hoffman Construction, and the owner is Multnomah County.

• A $2,000,000 permit is under inspection for landslide repair and mitigation on a slope on the Southeast Broadway Drive facing portion of a property at 2545 S.W. Terwilliger Blvd. The applicant is Lucas Mally of owner Terwilliger Plaza Inc., and the contractor is Bend-based Rock Supremacy LLC.

• A $609,008 alteration permit is under review for a tenant improvement for Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt on floors 17 through 19 of the PacWest Center at 1211 S.W. Fifth Ave. The applicant is Bethanne Mikkelsen of Ankrom Moisan Architects, the contractor is Balfour Beatty Construction, and the owner is TR PacWest LLC of Chicago.

• A $650,000 alteration permit is under review for a tenant improvement for Archivist Capital on the 27th and 28th floors of the Fox Tower building at 805 S.W. Broadway. The applicant is Bethanne Mikkelsen of Ankrom Moisan Architects, the contractor is Johnson Project Solutions, and the owner is Fox Tower LLC.

• A $3,651,332 alteration permit is under review for replacement of the roof of Portland City Hall, 1220 S.W. Fifth Ave. The applicant is Randi Selleck of the city’s Office of Management and Finance, and the primary contractor is out to bid. A $550,994 mechanical alteration permit for the project is also under review.

• A $600,000 multiple-dwelling site development permit is under review for site improvements including grading, landscaping, shared utilities, sidewalks and bike storage at 3427 N.E. Killingsworth St. The applicant is Bryant Jaksic of owner/contractor Ash Street Building LLC.
