Building permits issued for April 2-8

• A $2,093,012 addition permit was issued for a tenant improvement for a new gym at 10414 S.E. Washington St., including a new mezzanine, workout areas and a pool area. The applicant is Jeff Nagel of Edmonds, Washington-based Nagel Sport LLC, the contractor is Sympatico General Contracting LLC of Redmond, Washington, and the owner is Plaza 205 GRF2 LLC of Solana Beach, California.

• A $5,882,000 addition permit was issued for a new two-story day care building at Portland Community College’s Sylvania campus, at 11900 S.W. 49th Ave. The building will contain classroom and office space, and a pedestrian walkway connection to two existing buildings will be constructed. The applicant is Ryan Burt of GBD Architects, the contractor is Balfour Beatty Construction, and the owner is the Portland Community College District.

• A $2,900,000 new construction permit was issued for a new four-story, 19-unit apartment building with on-site parking at 4130 S.E. Division St. The applicant is Matthew Lillard of Baysinger Partners Architecture, the contractor is Centrex Construction, and the owner is 4130 SE Division LLC.

• A $24,215,026 new construction permit was issued for the Denizen Apartments (formerly known as the Jantzen Apartments), a new six-story mixed-use building with 212 residential units, 114 parking stalls, and ground-floor retail and common space, at 2050 N.E. Hoyt St. The applicant is Keith Fugate of SERA Architects and the contractor is Walsh Construction Co. No owner is listed on the application, but the property is owned by a limited liability company registered to Lennar Multifamily Communities.

• A $26,002,328 new construction permit was issued for a new six-story, 211-unit apartment building at 1313 E. Burnside St. The building will have 5,000 square feet of commercial space as well as parking below and above grade for 127 vehicles. The applicant is Blair Stone of Seattle-based Encore Architects PLLC, the contractor is Phoenix-based Alliance Pacific Northwest Builders, and the owner is John Potts of Battle Ground, Washington.

Building permit intakes for April 2-8

• A $2,650,000 alteration permit is under review for a tenant improvement to create a gastropub and hostel at 100 N.E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. The applicant is Mike Coyle of Faster Permits, the contractor is R&H Construction, and the owner is Vivian LLC.

• A $14,361,974 new construction permit is under review for The Canyons: Kaiser Group’s six-story, 70-unit senior living building with ground-floor retail and work space, at 19 N.E. Ivy St. The applicant is Emily Dawson of PATH Architecture, the contractor is R&H Construction, and the owner is PDX Canyons LLC.

• A $4,715,420 new construction permit is under review for a new four-story multifamily building with 54 units and ground-floor retail space and parking at 3249 S.E. Division St. The building is the second of a two-phase multifamily project developed by Urban Asset Advisors and designed by Hacker on adjacent parcels. The applicant is Dan Williams of Faster Permits, the contractor is LMC Construction, and the owner is Division Two LLC.

• A $518,323 new construction permit is under review for a new one-story metal storage building with a mezzanine at 8520 N. Kerby Ave. The applicant is Larry Shirts of Symons Engineering, the contractor is Phi Construction Inc., and the owner is 10E Properties LLC.

Facility permits issued for April 2-8

• An $18,478,469 mechanical alteration permit was issued for the MEP package for the renovation of the Portland Building at 1120 S.W. Fifth Ave. The applicant is Erica Ceder of DLR Group, the contractor is Temp Control Mechanical Corporation, and the owner is the city of Portland.

Facility permit intakes for April 2-8

• A $1,100,000 alteration permit is under review for a roof replacement at Harriet Tubman Middle School at 2231 N. Flint Ave. The applicant is Nicholas Sukkau of owner Portland Public Schools, and the contractor is MA Mortenson Company.

• A $1,640,000 alteration permit is under review for tenant improvements for co-working company Industrious on three floors of the 6Y Building (formerly known as Sixth at Yamhill) at 819 S.W. Sixth Ave. The applicant is Mike Coyle of Faster Permits, the contractor is R&H Construction, and the owner is Sixth At Yam Owner LLC of Newport Beach, California.

• An $800,000 alteration permit is under review for a tenant improvement for Turner Construction on the sixth floor of Menashe Properties’ new office building at 1155 S.W. Morrison St. The applicant is Greg Wells of contractor Turner Construction, and the owner is Morrison Development LLC.

• A $2,000,000 addition permit sought on deferred submittal is under review for exterior stone system on levels one through four of the Multnomah County Central Courthouse building at 1200 S.W. First Ave. The applicant is Jeff Gardner of contractor Hoffman Construction, and the owner is Multnomah County. A $500,000 addition permit sought on deferred submittal is also under review for curtainwall systems on levels one through four of the building.
