Building permits issued for May 7-13

  • A $1,110,780 new construction permit was issued for a three-story, 15-unit apartment building at 4975 N.E. 14th Place. The applicant is Samantha Thornton of CIDA, the contractor is I&E Construction Inc., and the owner is Alberta Street Partners LLC of San Francisco.
  • A $10,700,000 new construction permit was issued for structural and below-grade work on a 15-story hotel at 601 S.W. 11th Ave. Permitted work includes below-grade electrical and plumbing, mat slab foundation system, concrete shear walls and columns, and post-tensioned concrete decks. The applicant is Jon McAuley of SERA Architects, the contractor is Mortenson Development Inc. of Minneapolis, and the owner is Portland Hotel Properties LLC of Chicago.
  • A $2,963,558 new construction permit is under inspection for Key Development’s Block 76 East project – a five-story, 23,559-square-foot mixed-use building at 365 N.E. Couch St. The applicant is Jill Asselineau of Skylab Architecture, the contractor is Andersen Construction, and the owner is Block 76 LLC.

Building permit intakes for May 7-13

  • A $612,177 alteration permit is under review for conversion of an existing commercial building to a shelter at 6144 S.E. Foster Road. Improvements are to include new bathrooms, showers, commons area and storage, and seismic upgrades. The applicant is Linda Barnes of Merryman Barnes Architects, the owner is Winson International LLC of Eastvale, California, and the primary contractor is out to bid.
  • A $552,322 alteration permit is under review for interior improvements to existing storage and office space at a storage building at 14161 N.E. Airport Way. The applicant is Breeze Griffin of Anderson Dabrowski Architects LLC, the contractor is Bremik Construction, and the owner is Icon Owner Pool 1 West LLC of Houston, Texas.
  • A $75,000,000 new construction permit is under review for Alamo Manhattan’s 20-story mixed-use tower at 140 S.W. Columbia St. The project will include 348 residential units, 244 parking spaces and approximately 15,000 square feet of shell commercial space. The applicant is Mike Coyle of Faster Permits, the contractor is Andersen Construction, and the owner is Lot 53 LLC.
  • A $1,531,046 new construction permit is under review for a three-story, 12-unit apartment building with below-grade parking at 4242 S.E. Milwaukie Ave. The applicant is Mike Coyle of Faster Permits, the owner is Michael Nealy, and the primary contractor is out to bid.
  • An $890,182 new construction permit is under review for a three-story, 11-unit apartment building with ground-floor retail space on the southeast corner of Northeast Alberta Street and 26th Avenue. The applicant is Gabe Headrick of Steelhead Architecture, the contractor is Structure Development Group LLC, and the owner is Alberta Lofts LLC.
  • A $4,897,948 new construction permit is under review for a four-story, 66-unit apartment building at 2005 N. Rosa Parks Way. The applicant is Jennifer Nye of William Wilson Architects, the contractor is Path Construction, and the owner is Michael Fitz.
  • An $850,000 new construction permit is under review for a three-story, 14-unit apartment building at 1215 N. Alberta St. The applicant is Mike Coyle of Faster Permits, the contractor is Kardia Construction LLC, and the owner is William Schwartz.
  • A $13,753,474 new construction permit is under review for a 12-story, 197-unit hotel at 539 S.W. 10th Ave. The applicant is Mike Coyle of Faster Permits, the contractor is Balfour Beatty Construction of Goldsboro, North Carolina, and the owner is L-63 LLC.
  • A $10,159,563 new construction permit is under review for one of two storage buildings at 7945 N.E. Alberta St. The building will also contain a manager’s office and residence. A second permit valued at $631,750 is also under review for the second of the two buildings, a single-story structure. The applicant is Andisheh Afghan of AAI Engineering, the owner is GS Alberta LLC of Houston, Texas, and the primary contractor is out to bid.

Facility permits issued for May 7-13

  • A $3,753,968 alteration permit was issued for tenant improvements to the second and third floors of the Congress Center at 1001 S.W. Fifth Ave. The applicant is Monte Ypma of GBD Architects, the contractor is Lease Crutcher Lewis, and the owner is ASVRF Unico Portland I LLC of Seattle.
  • A $6,400,000 alteration permit was issued for improvements to the basement through the fifth floor of Portland State University’s Cramer Hall building at 1721 S.W. Broadway. A $2,600,000 mechanical alteration permit was also issued for the project. The applicant is Mark Fuji of PSU, the contractor is Hydro-Temp Mechanical, and the owner is the Oregon State Board of Higher Education.
  • A $650,000 alteration permit was issued for a tenant improvement for Archivist Capital Management on the 27th and 28th floors of Fox Tower at 805 S.W. Broadway. The applicant is Bethanne Mikkelsen of Ankrom Moisan Architects, the contractor is Johnson Project Solutions Inc., and the owner is Fox Tower LLC.
  • An $800,000 alteration permit was issued for a ramp level tenant improvement for United Airlines at Portland International Airport, 7000 N.E. Airport Way. The applicant is Matthew Inadomi of San Francisco-based RIM Architects, the contractor is Swinerton Builders, and the owner is the Port of Portland.
  • A $1,859,457 alteration permit was issued for a tenant improvement on the basement and first floor of Oregon Health & Science University’s Multnomah Pavilion building at 3181 S.W. Sam Jackson Park Road. The applicant is Heidi Byrne of owner OHSU, and the contractor is Fortis Construction.
  • A $647,270 alteration permit was issued for a new fire alarm system at the Martin Luther King Jr. School at 4906 N.E. Sixth Ave. The applicant is owner Portland Public Schools.
  • A $3,200,000 mechanical alteration permit was issued for a chiller plant replacement at the laundry building of Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center at 2253 N.W. Marshall St. The applicant is Bruce McLay of Affiliated Engineers, the contractor is Harder Mechanical Contractors, and the owner is Good Samaritan Hospital.
  • A $1,998,195 mechanical alteration permit was issued for a WeWork tenant improvement on floors 10 through 12 of the Power and Light Building at 920 S.W. Sixth Ave. The applicant is Jessica Storm of contractor MacDonald-Miller Facility Solutions, and the owner is Public Service Building LLC.
