  • Early assistance is sought for the addition of a multifamily building to an existing 18-unit apartment complex at 9008 N.E. Hassalo St. The applicant seeks to add as many units as possible. Larry Cowlishaw of Method Construction is the applicant, and the owner is Ludon Investments Inc., which is registered to Larry Kelley.
  • Early assistance is sought for a new four-story, 36-unit multifamily building at 5136 N. Lombard St., a site currently occupied by a 94-year-old duplex. The project would be subject to inclusionary housing requirements. The applicant is Frank Stock of WDC Properties, and the owners are Albert and Carolyn Robertson.
  • Early assistance is sought for the development of two flag lots at 7700 S.E. Mitchell St., both of which have property line adjustments with lot confirmation under review. The two flag lots are being developed, each with a three-story, six-unit apartment building. The applicant is Bob Schatz of Allusa Architecture, and the owner is AAV Once LLC, which is registered to Tina Lei.
  • Early assistance is requested for renovations and upgrades, including seismic ones, to The Rose, a three-story, 108-year-old apartment building at 631 S.E. Taylor St. The building, with single-room units for homeless women, is owned by Reach Community Development. The applicant is Kathy Johnson of Jones Architecture, and the owner is Reach Rose LLC.
  • Type III design review is pending for the replacement of a glass and steel solarium on the southeast corner of the Melvin Mark Companies-owned Columbia Square building at 111 S.W. Columbia St. The updated structure would utilize higher efficiency clear glazing and better unite the steel-framed structure with the building form. A new awning and signage are proposed at the relocated main entry, and the plaza is being modified to include decorative and stormwater planters. Restaurant space and hardscape area will be redeveloped. The applicants are Jon McGrew and Cara Wessel of Hennebery Eddy Architects, and the owner is Columbia Square LLC.
  • Type III historic resource review with modifications is pending for improvements to the six-story, 90-unit Medallion Apartments building at 1969 N.W. Johnson St. The project would include a new exterior skin, HVAC upgrades, site upgrades, and non-conforming upgrades. The work is part of an effort by Home Forward to upgrade a number of its low-income apartment properties. The applicant is Dave Otte of Holst Architecture, and the owner is Home Forward.
